Pub Quiz

Naomh Éanna CLG are organising a Pub Quiz on Friday 29th May at 7:30pm, as a fundraiser for Cian McGrath Appeal. It should be a good night and a bit of craic, Paddy Gray has kindly agreed to be question master!!!

Child Protection Policy

Our Child Protection Policy forbids any adult entering teaching spaces during the school day.  If you need to speak to a teacher quickly or require an appointment please go to the school office firstly.

Sports Day

Weather permitting, GSÉ Sports Day will be on Friday 12th June.  A small group of parents are planning to come together on the day with few stands i.e. cakes, jewellery, knitted blankets etc to raise a few pound in aid of Cian’s appeal. More information to follow nearer the time.

Transfer notification for Rang 7 pupils

The Education Authority, North Eastern Region will issue letters today, Friday 22 May 2015 advising parents of the post primary school to which their child has been accepted.

The Department of Education has requested that contingency arrangements are in place to ensure that any child who does not receive their placement letter on the Saturday will be able to contact Transfer Branch staff to confirm placement details.

Consequently, we confirm that parents can contact Transfer Branch staff on telephone number 028 25662306 between the hours of 3.00 pm and 5.00 pm on Saturday 23 May 2015.  Staff will be available to confirm placement details only.  Any other Transfer related queries should be withheld until the office re-opens on Tuesday 26 May 2015. Parents should also feel free to contact Maighréad on 07799 718638 if needs be.

Parent Teacher Meetings

Pupil progress meetings will be convened next week beginning Monday 25th May 2015 – In order to facilitate the meetings, there will be no afterschool provision next week and all classes will finish each day during the week at 2pm. Individual class teachers should by now have set appointment times for relevant parents – if a date and time has not been set please speak to teacher.

Cumann Óige

Valley Leisure Centre – sport ‘s spraoi / for fun and games. 6.45pm – 8.15pm. Tuck shop available. £1.50 an pháiste/ per child.

Margadh ar chlogaid agus chamáin

Fuair páistí na Gaelscoile tacar iontach clogaid úra an tseachtain seo (idir Chroí Éanna agus an scoil a mhaoinigh i gcomhpháirt) réidh don Samhradh agus bhí roinnt tuistí i dteagmháil ar na mallaibh ag fiosraigh maidir le clogaid agus camáin a cheannach dá bpáistí. Tá margadh iontach ar fáil le Eugene sa chumann; clogad agus camán ar £45 (lacáiste den scoth!). Má tá suim ag duine ar bith an deis seo a thapaidh is féidir dul i dteagmháil le múinteoir Malachaí sa scoil. (gnáth phraghas ar chlogad idir – £40 – £66 agus camáin – £17).

The children of the Gaelscoil recently received a lovely new set of helmets (part-funded by both Croí Éanna and the Gaelscoil) ready for the Summer and some parents have enquired about buying helmets and hurls for their children. There is a fantastic offer available through Eugene in the club; helmet and hurl for £45 (a great discount!). If anyone is interested in availing of this opportunity they can contact múinteoir Malachaí in the school. (Usual price of helmets can vary from £40-£66 and hurls – £17).

Turas go Tír na nÓg do Rang 5/6

The Rang 5/6 children will be visiting the Glens of Antrim in June for a one night residential which has been organised by Cumann Óige Chroí Éanna. The date has been confirmed as Thursday 4th June until Friday 5th June. A letter will be issued to the parents of children wishing to go on the trip in due course to confirm cost, itinerary etc.

Turas chun na Gaeltachta do Rang 7

The Rang 7 children will be visiting the Donegal Gaeltacht in June for a two day residential together with pupils from another Gaelscoil, Gaelscoil Ghleann Darach in Crumlin. Múinteoir Roy will be in contact with parents of children wishing to go on the trip in due course to confirm cost, itinerary etc.

Club Leabhar/Book Club

Tá múinteoir Roy ag eagrú Club leabhar le béím a chur ar scileanna léitheoireacha a fheabhsú  agus ar léitheoireacht don sult.  Beidh an club leabhar lonnaithe i Rang Roy gach Déardaoin, ag toiseacht ar an 7ú lá de mhí Bealtaine.  Tá an club ar oscailt do dhaltaí Eocharchéim 2, sin le rá Rang 5,6 and 7.

Múinteoir Roy is organising a book club aimed at improving children’s fluency in Irish and English through reading for pleasure.  The Book Club will be held every Thursday In Roy’s classroom.  The club will be open to Key stage 2 pupils i.e. Rang 5,6 and 7.

 

 

 

Lá Forbartha Iománaíochta

Bhí lá den chéad scoth ag cách ar an Aoine seo chaite nuair a reachtáil Gaelscoil Éanna Lá Forbartha Iomána den chéad uair. Chuir muid fáilte roimh roinnt scoltacha ó Thuaisceart Bhéal Feirste le go mbeidh blaiseadh ag na daltaí ar an iomáint/camógaíocht agus go gcuirfí le scileanna s’acu siúd a mbíonn ag imirt. Le seisiún scileanna, cluichí dúshlána agus soláistí bhreá curtha ar fáil, bhain na páistí taitneamh agus tairbhe as an lá. Buíochas mór le Croí Éanna, na múinteoirí agus páistí go léir as páirt a ghlacadh.

Everyone had a great day last Friday when Gaelscoil Éanna organised our first ever hurling development day. We welcomed a number of schools from North Belfast to give the students a taste of hurling/camogie for the first time and to develop the skills of those who play. With skills sessions, challenge games and some healthy refreshments provided, the children enjoyed and gained much from the day.
